About me - Carla Knežević
My name is Carla Knežević. I come from Croatia and I proudly represent Heard Horse as an ambassador of a unique and heartfelt equestrian story.I am an equestrian at heart — a woman, horse lover, educator, guide, rider, and trainer. A person whose life is shaped by a deep love for horses, the equestrian world, and the horsmenship connection.Currently I am working as a tourist guide at one of the popular tourist destination spot on the island of Krk, welcoming visitors from all over the world. I truly enjoy working with people from all over the world — listening to their stories, learning about their cultures, music, and traditions. What defines me most are my energy, humor, empathy, creativity, and imagination. I connect deeply with people and animals, and I believe that true horsemanship begins with understanding, respect, and feeling.
My Journey
My story with horses began very early, when I was around three years old. My parents and grandparents placed me in a saddle for the first time. I don’t remember that moment, but they told me I was smiling. From that day on, horses became a part of my identity and story. From a young age, I was taught discipline, responsibility, and respect and I was encouraged to dream. Even though many of those dreams seemed impossible at the beginning, I never let go of them. There were many obstacles along the way, but step by step, through persistence and belief, I turned those dreams into reality. I learned wherever I could , riding and working in ranches and equestrian clubs. Over the years, I worked as a stable manager, riding instructor, educator of young children, and as a guide for tourist riding tours. Leading both locals and visitors through trails and landscapes, sharing the beauty, culture, sport , and spirit of Croatia on the backs of our equine friends. I taught both in the saddle and on the ground, focusing strongly on groundwork, communication, and trust between horse and human. Nine years ago, I found my place of peace. I met her — my mixed-breed mare, who is also my heart horse. It was love at first sight. For years, I watched her from a distance, feeling a strong, unspoken connection. After many ups and downs, successes and failures, she became mine. Today, after everything we have been through, we stand together just the two of us in our small paradise in Croatia. I was raised in the city, but my heart always belonged to the countryside. At a certain point in life, I clearly understood what I truly wanted — without being pushed or forced by anyone. That realization changed everything. My message is simple and honest: "Do what you love, and you’ll never work a day in your life" . Later, I joined an equestrian club farther from my home, where I achieved important results with the club and their horses. I have completed licenses in endurance, dressage, jumping, as well as a riding license ,competed in endurance discipline, fell, laughed, and grew. Along this path, I also completed my certification in Emmett Therapy for horses (level 1), adding another dimension to my work focused on horse wellbeing, body balance, and gentle therapeutic approaches. I truly believe that growth comes through failure, patience, and learning through the people who walk beside us. Friends, mentors, family, and my partner have always been my greatest support, and I am truly grateful to them for everything.
Vision
In the next 5 to 10 years, I see myself on a higher level, with even bigger goals.
I am moving toward deeper development in sport, training, therapeutic work with horses on next level , and education. My goal is to continue learning and to teach because:" knowledge is the one thing that can never be taken away from you".By sharing my knowledge and experience, I aim to inspire, guide, and support others on their own equestrian journeys.I dream of seeing my horses grazing freely in the pasture, surrounded by satisfied faces and genuine smiles from both young and older generations. I want to have a positive, inspiring impact on people, helping them discover something new through me, through horses, and through life. Horses communicate constantly. They speak through movement, energy, and presence. When we learn how to truly listen, they teach us patience, honesty, and balance. For me, communication is the foundation of real horsemanship.

As ambassador, my vision is for the community to grow, welcome new members, and expand beyond borders, connecting people around the world who share the same passion and respect for horses. Heard Horse is about growth of people, horses, and community where everyone can learn, share, and develop together . Through Heard Horse, I want to show that horses are not just animals — they are teachers, partners, and mirrors of our inner world.
